Meet Dribble for the Cure Honorary Team Captain, Grayson

grayson family

Grayson was diagnosed with leukemia at 4 years old en route to a Disney Cruise.  During his three-plus years of chemotherapy treatments, Grayson met and made friends with some of the UCLA Women’s basketball team, including Ali Rosenblum, and his whole family has become huge fans of the team. It was so exciting for Grayson’s entire family to go to the games or watch them play on TV. His favorite part was giving them high-fives when they ran out onto the court to play. Ali even came to sit with Grayson during his treatment and eat with us at the hospital cafeteria.

This June marked the end of his chemotherapy and, in August, Grayson had his chest port removed, allowing him the freedom to run and play freely! Grayson has been able to return to school full-time and continues to be in remission thanks to the amazing group of doctors, nurses, child life specialists, and staff at UCLA Health. He and his family are now looking forward to finally taking that Disney Cruise!

Grayson is a proud Dribble for the Cure Honorary Captain and looks forward to the event each year! He has helped raise funds to support the research at the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, the hospital that he was treated at! Join Grayson and other patients and families at the 12th Annual Dribble for the Cure at UCLA.
