In the summer of 2022, we had the pleasure of meeting the Curtis Family. Through a partnership with FC Cancer, we had planned a Dyin’ To Live Dreams VIP experience for their amazing daughter Raegan. Through the partnership, we are able to provide VIP experiences to pediatric oncology patients and their families that allow them to create positive memories together outside of the hospital walls. We work together to utilize our relationships and resources to create moments that will allow the patients to focus on doing what they love and having fun with friends and family.

Raegan Curtis, a pediatric cancer patient, has fun with her siblings

About six months after their VIP experience, Raegan’s father Brian, who is currently a Senior Director of Finance for Kraft Sports and Entertainment, emailed to let us know about a charity boxing event that he is taking part in with Haymakers for Hope. The event is called the Rock N’ Rumble XII in Boston and takes place on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at MGM Music Hall at Fenway. He wants to raise money for PCRF in honor of his daughter and all of the other children and their siblings battling cancer. We at PCRF are so honored that Brian chose to fight for our foundation and are excited to head to MGM Music Hall on May 11th to support him!

To tell a bit more about why Brian fights, he recently shared,

“Raegan was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (“B-Cell ALL”) on July 10, 2020, just after her third birthday. Her life and the lives of her siblings, Ali (8) and Griffin (7), changed forever on that day. Throughout treatment, there were many rough days and nights however, she was a tremendous warrior through it all. There were countless trips to the ER at Massachusetts General Hospital, multiple nights where we would wake her up multiple times to check her temperature, ensuring she did not have a fever, and many, many trips to the MGH Hematology Oncology clinic. Through it all, she has persevered through her treatments to continue to act and play like all 3-5 year olds should. She continued to master riding her bike, even with a bag of immunotherapy strapped to her back, and playing with her siblings. She was also able to complete a year of pre-school during her treatments and started kindergarten in September 2022. She endured 820 days of treatment since 7/10/2020. She is an incredible child with unbelievable support during it all from Alli and Griffin. I fight for Raegan, Ali, and Griffin. I fight to ensure that other children and their siblings don’t have to endure what mine did. I am fighting to raise money for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF)! 100% of all donations will go straight to PCRF.”

The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation improves the lives of children living with cancer by funding novel research to transform pediatric cancer care. We focus on advancing treatments and protocols that will create cures where none exist and inspire less toxic regimens that have fewer side effects. We know that vibrant partnerships with the research community are essential for accelerating meaningful scientific progress — partnerships that endure and flourish as days turn into years and stomach-churning disappointments alternate with exhilarating wins. Together – with the support of researchers, funders and families — we will change the world of pediatric cancer care and make it possible for children facing childhood cancer to spread their wings and soar.
