The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) values its partnerships with companies that not only want to make a difference in a child’s life today, but are committed to investing in promising research that helps children diagnosed in the future..
Powerstone Property Management Inc., a full-service Orange County, California based property management firm has proudly joined us on the front lines of curing pediatric cancer for the past 9 years. Participating in our annual Reaching for the Cure event has become part of their company culture and something they look forward to each year.
“This event has become part of our Powerstone family core outreach every year. Our vendors are a huge part of this event, and look forward to the impact our gift will still make this year to support top research around the country,” said Chief Executive Officer of Powerstone Property Management, Rene Decker.
PowerStone has continued to be our top Corporate Fundraising Team year after year. They have raised over $630,000 for leading edge research through securing sponsorships from industry business partners, conducting employee fundraising challenges and holding their annual silent auction happy hour.
Community Manager, Kylie Decker, tells us more about their involvement and why supporting PCRF is important to them.
Why is being involved with PCRF important to you?
Powerstone has made it its mission to give back to a charitable organization within the community and we couldn’t think of a better organization than PCRF. It is very important that Powerstone is involved with PCRF because we want to bring awareness to this organization and help be apart of the cure for pediatric cancer. Powerstone has hope that a cure will be found.
Was this a special year for your team?
Yes, this year has been our best year yet. Powerstone raised over $106,000 for PCRF through our silent auction/happy hour event and our GritCycle spin fundraiser. We are thrilled to have surpassed our goal of $100,000 this year and we look forward to the following year to raise even more money for pediatric cancer.
What does hope mean to you?
Hope means that one day there will be cure. Powerstone has hope that soon the research that is the result of fundraising efforts will create the end of pediatric cancer as a whole. Each donation given is more research that is provided to find a cure.
What do you want people to take away/know/learn about pediatric cancer?
Powerstone wants people to know that a cure is on the horizon and that we are working hard to get there. PCRF has impacted so many lives and will continue to with new advancements in research, which is why spreading awareness about this organization and cause is so important.
Are you involved in honor or memory of a loved one?
Powerstone got involved with PCRF about nine years ago due to the impact PCRF had on a family friend. We knew this was the perfect cause to work towards and contribute to.
We thank Powerstone Property Management and its employees for setting an example of the power of philanthropy in business and community. We are truly grateful for their support of PCRF.
