Todd

Todd was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in his junior year of high school. He fought bravely and continued to battle the disease every day. He graduated from high school, was accepted into UC Berkeley in 1998, and was looking forward to his freshman year. Unfortunately, Todd never made it to college. He lost his three-year battle with cancer at the age of 18. Todd’s family along with many other committed Running with Todd supporters continue to raise money and awareness in his memory each year, and have been doing so for the last 12 years!

“Dear Todd,

You will forever be in our hearts and we miss you every day. This year would be your 40th birthday. To celebrate, we are inviting people to join us at the Reaching for the Cure on Team Running With Todd. Along with the community of runners and walkers, we participate to honor those who are still fighting and those who are with you in heaven. We are going to celebrate with the theme of 40 Reasons to Run:

 

Naomi’s Butterflies – Raising funds for a cure for pediatric cancer research.
Team Calleigh – In honor of brain cancer warrior, Calleigh. It is because of donations like yours, that research was done and she had an opportunity to take part in a clinical trial that cured her cancer.
Jimena’s Journey – In support of a beautiful and strong 2-year-old baby girl named Jimena who was recently diagnosed with Pre B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Team Whalen – Let’s leave cancer in the dust!
The Squirrelly Walkers – Celebrating 14 Years of fighting childhood cancers.
Team Brendan – In honor of Brendan who was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia (B-ALL) just before his 2nd birthday.
Mikey’s Marauders – In honor of Mikey, who is celebrating his 10 Year Anniversary of being cancer-free.
Morethan4 – In loving memory of Issac Angelo Almeida.
Team Wonder Woman – In honor of 8-year-old Alizah who is fighting Osteosarcoma.
Joshy Forever – In loving memory of 7-year-old warrior Joshua Noel Esquivel, who passed away after an almost 4 year battle with Pineoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.
Team Zein / Zeinvolution – In honor of 4-time cancer warrior, Zein.
Team Brynn – In honor of Brynn.
Will Strong – In memory of sweet baby Will Irwin. Throughout Will’s battle, he remained to be the most angelic and happy little boy.
Zeekie’s Race for a Cure – In honor of Ezekiel.
Team Brody – In honor of AT/RT warrior, Brody.
Team Abby – In honor of Leukemia warrior, Abby. She still has a long road of treatments ahead of her, but she is tough.
Team Spencer – Giving. Humanity. Gratitude. Hope. Compassion. Strength. LOVE.
Johnny’s Believers – In memory of Johnny.
#silasstrong – In honor of Silas, an amazing 11-year-old boy battling a brain tumor.
Run For Josh – In loving memory of Joshua.
Team Duncan – In memory of Duncan O’Malley who inspired love, strength, and courage.
Team Andi – In honor of Stage 3 Neuroblastoma warrior, Andi. She is now NED (No Evidence of Disease), thanks to the power of research.
Brooke’s Butterflies – In memory of Brooke.
Team Super Jack – In honor of Jack who was born with a rare tumor called Cellular Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma. Thanks to research, today Jack is a strong, happy four-year-old full of smiles.
Team Samantha – In honor of Samantha.
Keanna’s Angels – In memory of Keanna. Keanna was a happy and free-spirited angel with nothing but love and laughter to spread to others around her.
LyndenStrong – In honor of Lynden.
Team Benjamin – In honor of Benjamin. He is thriving due to new treatments that came from research funded by PCRF and other foundations.
Kainoa’s Super Squad – In honor of Kainoa, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia warrior. This was possible because of the advancements made in pediatric cancer research.
Team Sydney – In honor of Sydney, Langerhans Cell Sarcoma warrior.
Matthew’s Legacy – In memory of Matthew Torres, Osteosarcoma warrior.
Running With Todd – In memory of Todd Shepard.
Love for Sophia – In honor of Sophia.
Tommy’s Nutty Troop – In honor of Thomas French who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma as an infant and is still cancer-free 20+ years later.
Team Abigail – In memory of Ewing Sarcoma warrior, Abigail Caplan Jones. Abigail was special to all who knew her, not to mention extremely smart and talented.
#Carterstrongforever – In memory of Leukemia warrior, Carter Ankeny. He was a ball of light who lived life with passion, tenacity, and immense love.

We are Brave – In honor of Savannah King.

Hope Warriors – Fighting for a hopeful future for all.

DIPG Running Warriors/ Moon Shot 4 Kids – Running in honor of all DIPG Families.
