b'WHERE WE FUNDThe Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation proudly supported the work of researchers at these prestigious institutions in FY2021.Eight of the top 10 US childrens hospitals received funding support from PCRF10101010 2210 881 101710 73351051014PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH CANT WAIT1010 1366 1110In 2021, Covid-19s dramatic impact on our lives remained unchanged. The only thing certain was uncertainty. As people grew11 121012accustomed to their remote lives, they worried about the mental health impact of being isolated and wondered if a sense of normalcy would ever again be possible. The pediatric cancer community saw some worrying trends:Delayed diagnosis led to delayed treatment and an increase in deaths 10410 499Closed labs and the departure of scientists whose expertise is sorely neededFrozen funds delayed the hiring of emerging researchers who represent the future of the pediatric cancer research fieldDollars donated to pediatric cancer research declined by as much as 50 percent as other causes commanded more immediate action1. Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA 14. Ivy Brain Tumor Center at the Barrow Neurological Institute, Phoenix, AZMade our first investment in a biotech company. We selected Oncoheroes Biosciences, a mission-driven biotech company building a multi-asset pipeline exclusively focused on pediatric oncology. We believe they will be pivotal in moving the needle and commercializing the therapies children with cancer badly need.Launched a partnership with the V Foundation, another highly rated cancer not-for-profit, to amplify the impact of one of our proven fundraisers, Dribble for the Cure. It is now renamed Dribble for Victory Over Cancer. Laid the ground for other collaborations, too, such as with Premier Lacrosse League. These alliances are helping to expand both awareness and funding support for pediatric cancer research. While that is all laudable, we are not done. Forty-seven children are still diagnosed with cancer in the US each day and the care they receive can vary based on where they live and their ethnic background as much as on what type of cancer they have. We wont stop until science uncovers the answers to ensure that all 47 of them get the treatments that will enable them to live happy, productive futures, free from the toxic side effects that dominate todays treatment options. WE WILL PERSEVERE, DAY AFTER DAY, UNTIL OUR GOAL IS REACHED, AND ZERO KIDS PERISH FROM CANCER.7'
