Meet Kenny, Dribble for the Cure Honorary Team Captain! Kenny is one of our long-standing Dribble heroes! He has participated and been an Honorary Captain since 2012. He continues to be a spokesperson for UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital speaking about his experience with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and being an advocate for pediatric cancer research.
Kenny is a sophomore in high school and enjoys his classes, friends, dances, and most of all, being on the school’s basketball team! Last year, he was awarded Defensive Player of the Year and received the Scholar-Athlete Award for exceeding a 3.5 GPA. Kenny has also been learning to drive in preparation for getting his driver’s permit.
He plans to attend college where he will major in Sports Journalism. Kenny is a survivor and approaches every day with drive, determination, and appreciation, knowing that each day is a wonderful gift! Kenny loves to travel, talk, and laugh.
He has helped raise funds to support the research at the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, the hospital that he was treated at! Join Kenny and other patients, survivors, and families next year at the 13th Annual Dribble for the Cure at UCLA.
