At age two, King Singh was diagnosed with high risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia (blood cancer) as well as a rare blood disease named G6PD. King endured 3.5 years of intense daily chemotherapy treatment in the form of pills, intravenously and spinal chemo. He suffered every side effect including neuropathy (nerve damage), leukoencephalopathy (brain trauma) and intussusception (intestines twisting) to name a few.
Although the odds were against him with a rare combination of both diseases, he stayed strong and never gave up. He willingly participated in walks to raise awareness for childhood cancer while on intense chemotherapy treatment, despite being immunocompromised. He is selfless and always thinking of others.
Every birthday since diagnosis King has asked friends and family to host toy drives in his honor so he can make other children smile. King lost his beloved grandmother Roxann to cancer so he is grateful for his second chance at life and makes every day count.
Today thanks to research and his determination to live and thrive, he is a cancer survivor and rare disease warrior! King is an asset to his community, making a difference, giving back and raising awareness about childhood cancer every chance he has.
