Named the #1 Best Race of Orange County by OC Register, the 22nd annual Reaching for the Cure Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, Kids Run event is set for March 22, 2020, at Irvine Valley College. Participants will run and walk to celebrate 22 years of life-saving research dollars raised in honor of pediatric cancer warriors, patients, and survivors everywhere.

Fundraising dollars raised from this event is what helps PCRF get closer to our goal of eliminating childhood cancer. Each year, the Reaching for the Cure event grows and touches more oncology families. There are currently 102 teams registered, both corporate and family, all fundraising for a cure. So far, over $183,000 has been raised towards this event alone – thanks to amazing families and corporate teams that are passionate about making an impact.

Participants have the option to register on a team with family, friends, and loved ones where together they collect pledges and raise money for pediatric cancer research. Teams and individuals become eligible for prizes as their fundraising. Each participant will receive a goodie bag, finishers medal, and a t-shirt. Half Marathon participants will receive a special edition running hat as part of their registration.

Fundraising efforts will support PCRF’s highly esteemed group of researcher institutions funded by the organization. Local California institutions to benefit from this effort include Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, City of Hope, Stanford University and the University of California, San Francisco. Participants can register online or on race day. All donations, online and in-person, go directly towards pediatric cancer research.

This wonderful community event will have all of the fun that runners have come to know and love. At the end of the race, there is a Finish Line Festival that features an awards ceremony, over 60 health and wellness exhibitors; food trucks and musical entertainment; Gold Ribbon Reception Area with beer garden; PCRF’s famous Kids Zone with rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, obstacle courses, face painting and more – free for the whole family.
